Phone Support
I suggest you have this, as not all of us are savvy enough to follow general written instructions when a media source is not any of those listed. ave phone support. I just signed-up for a free trial, but now that I see only email-based support, I will be choosing a company with phone support..

BPM Finder
It would be great if the software could automatically find the BPM of the song or video clip being played as it saves opening external applications to do this simple task.

Add an optional AutoCorrect
Add an AutoCorrect feauture, similar to those in mobile devices and word processors. Since some users type shorthand or use codes in their transcript, an ability to turn off this feature is essential.
It would be great to have the following:
- Automatically make every sentence start with a capital letter.
- Include a system that recognizes frequently used words and names.47 votes -

Add right-to-left paragraph option, like for Hebrew and Arabic languages
Without this support, transcribing Hebrew and Arabic languages could be messy, especially in case of long sentences or several sentences in one dialog.

Allow Real-Time timecode input (e.g. Midi Time Code) in Offline Media mode
This would make InqScribe more useful for logging off a hardware player, but more importantly means it could be used for real-time logging during Production. An example would be when filming long documentary interviews or Reality TV, a Production Assistant could be logging events to timecode coming from the Camera. Afterwards, this data could be imported into a new Transcription document along with a video file, as a head-start for creating a full edit log or transcript. There's other live timecode loggers out there, but nothing that does transcription after the fact as well. There are several existing apps for…

Include a confirmation dialog on "don't save" on close
Having just inadvertently closed Inqscribe thanks to Ctrl+W being right next to Ctrl+Q, I respectfully ask that you consider doing this:
Add a secondary confirmation dialog box to the "don't save" command, which might help prevent lost work.

Unpin video window from text window
You should be able to unpin the video window from the text window so you can place in a secondary window. I personally want to use your software for court presentation by clicking on the timecode and immediately playing back for the jury. Right now I have to note the time code then pull up the video in a separate player and cue to the correct time.
13 votesThanks for the suggestion Andrew. I see how unpinning the video window would be really useful for presentation scenarios. We will consider this for a future update of InqScribe.
Your second suggestion about embedding subtitles within the playback window is actually covered in the following suggestion: http://support.inqscribe.com/forums/4206-general-feedback-for-inqscribe/suggestions/3057491-preview-subtitled-movies
Feel free to place your votes there! I’ve edited this part out of the description to keep these ideas separate.

Stopwatch Snippet Variable
This idea comes from our user Ross:
"A snippet which would add a time stamp in seconds with a running clock restarted from 0 seconds from the previous marker. The first marker would start the clock running and the second entry would add the elapsed time, say 10.35 (seconds). The third entry would reset the clock to zero then add the elapsed time between the second and third entry, say 120.50 (seconds)."

Batch export
Add the ability to export to a certain format several Inqscribe files at once. Exporting a whole card full of Inqscribe transcripts one by one takes FOREVER.

Add bacground play and lock to screen
Aďd background plsy and a function to lock the screen on mobile app
1 voteAlex Underwood respondedHi Phillip,
Thanks for writing in the request. We have a previous suggestion for background support that’s already accumulated some votes. You’re welcome to add your vote for the idea below:
http://support.inqscribe.com/forums/4206-general-feedback-for-inqscribe/suggestions/33720-let-me-use-inqscribe-to-control-playback-in-the-baRegarding your second request, we actually don’t have a mobile app. Are you able to run InqScribe on your mobile device? If so, what device are you using? We haven’t done any testing on mobile and would be interested in learning more if you managed to get InqScribe running.
Thanks,
Alex Underwood

Workabout for discontinous timecode
Instead of having to go back and adjust all the timecodes at the end to make up discontinuous timecode, it would be great to have a feature that allows you to adjust the running timecode throughout the transcript.
Eg. Start custom TC is 01:54:53:00. Partway through the TC has to change to 02:43:21:00, because a significant about of time has been removed.
It would be nice to have the hotkey then take over from the new custom TC and continue with that, rather than reverting back to the 'start custom TC'.
Maybe also have a feature that supports continuous timecode…

New version for Final Cut X?
Some of us have not jumped ship from being FCP 7 users and are loving life with Final Cut X. Is there an upgrade in the pipelines for us?

to have inqscribe to recognize tc on mp3 files
It will be nice if inqscribe could recognise ID3 TC in mp3 files embedded on the metadata. MP3 are smaller and have a fast download /upload time.
18 votesThanks for writing in the suggestion. If the idea gets enough votes, we’ll consider adding support for MP3 timecode recognition!

Allow us to disable built-in shortcuts
Specifically, I'd love it if Control-W shortcut to close the program had some way to back out of it. Because of other triggers I've set and am very accustomed to, it is way too easy to trigger this shortcut and tab to the "Don't Save" button and hit enter, which I did this morning, losing some unsaved work.
I'd just rather never have this particular function on shortcut.
If disabling is not an option, how about allowing the shortcut to remain in the system, but remap the trigger to a combination less likely to be inadvertently hit?
