Adding a spell checker is a high priority for the next InqScribe update. For users interested in an AutoCorrect feature, I've created a separate request. Feel free to cast your votes here:

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Edward,
You can export images for each timecode in your transcript. To do this, select "File > Save Time Series as JPEGs..." and choose the option "Save an image of every timecode in the transcript."
This will generate a series of image files, but note these images won't be embedded into the text of your transcript. You would need to use a program like MS Word to copy and paste everything together.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedAlthough InqScribe does not have a character counter or character limit, there is a potential workaround available now: http://support.inqscribe.com/knowledgebase/articles/180460-how-do-i-set-a-character-limit-while-transcribing
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedAnother user wrote in with a similar feature request to set a character limit per line.

Thanks for writing in the request! It’s great to hear users articulating their suggestions in the comments. We will keep this under consideration for a future InqScribe update.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedOne of our users wrote in to add onto this idea: When the media file is playing and reaches a timecode already entered into the transcript, that timecode should give a visual cue to help you assess the timing of that timecode. This visual cue could be simply highlighting the currently "active" timecode.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Nick, Thanks for writing in the suggestion. InqScribe currently has time of day support. You can enable this by clicking "Media > Select Media Source", choosing "Source Type: Offline Media" and checking the "Use time of day" box.
Are you asking specifically for Midi Time Code support?

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedThis year we've added support for Premiere and Avid compatible formats. Although it's taking longer than anticipated, Final Cut Pro X XML is still on our radar. Part of the reason for the delay is that FCP XML is a fairly complex format, whereas Premiere and Avid accept more straightforward-to-code subtitle files.

We’ve put up an experimental web-based Avid DS subtitle exporter. You can find it here: https://labs.inqscribe.com/exporter/avid/
Please try it out and give us feedback!
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedWe're actively working on a few new and improved export formats, but it's a little too early to give details. I'll make sure to post any Avid-related updates once I can say more!

Thanks for writing in the request! We realize the Adobe Premiere community has grown stronger over the last few years. We’ll keep this under review for a future update of InqScribe.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedWe're doing some research into Premiere support for InqScribe. We're wondering, what format do you currently use to import subtitles? Do you have a preferred subtitle format for use with Premiere?

I’ve edited the description to specify “snippet collections” as a feature you can use for yourself, not just for sharing purposes. Thanks for the feedback!
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Mike,
Thanks for writing in the suggestion. The good news is that we are actively considering this feature. We're currently working on some improvements to InqScribe, and although we cannot promise anything at this stage, we will try to include the "separate sets of shortcuts/snippets" idea.
We've actually already had someone write in this very suggestion, so I'm going to merge your votes into one entry: http://support.inqscribe.com/forums/4206-general-feedback-for-inqscribe/suggestions/234196-support-separate-sets-of-snippets-shortcuts
Thanks again!

Community Manager, InqScribeAn error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi all,
We're considering this feature, and we'd love to collect some more feedback about how you use shortcuts. We're toying with the idea of there being pre-loaded, default "sets" of shortcuts to choose from. Of course, these would be optional and adjustable. What we'd like to know is: what shortcuts should we pre-assign InqScribe? Are there certain commands and/or triggers that are essential to your workflow?
We welcome any feedback for both keyboard and foot pedal setups. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. We’re currently working on revamping InqScribe’s media engine, and VLC support is a possibility. For more about InqScribe’s future, head over to our blog: http://blogs.inquirium.net/inqscribe/2014/03/retiring-quicktime/
Fun fact:
Currently, VLC Player cannot be used to control media in InqScribe, but did you know you can view your exported subtitles in VLC Player? More in our Knowledge Base here: http://support.inqscribe.com/knowledgebase/articles/422681-how-do-i-import-my-subtitles-into-vlc-playerAn error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedSisi,
Just to clarify, this is a page for InqScribe support and feature suggestions. Based on your comment, it sounds like you might be looking for VLC media player support, which you can find here:
http://www.videolan.org/support/InqScribe is unaffiliated with VLC. If you have have any issues or questions about InqScribe, feel free to send us an email at support@inqscribe.com.

We hope to get to this soon, along with support for stl import.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Deborah,
InqScribe already allows you to export to the Subrip SRT format. Please read my previous comment for instructions.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Deborah,
You can actually already export to an .srt file using InqScribe. It's importing that we're still working on. We don't have a release date set for importing, but we do plan to add more importing and exporting formats in the near future.
More info on Subrip .srt export here: http://docs.inqscribe.com/2.2/format_subrip.html
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Meg,
Rest assured that we are currently working on the next release of InqScribe, and importing .srt files is on our list of planned features. Although we can't give out a release date, you can read more about some of the changes coming to InqScribe in our blog here: http://blogs.inquirium.net/inqscribe/2014/03/retiring-quicktime/

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedHi Boh,
Sorry to hear InqScribe's foreign language support isn't working as expected. Based on your description, it sounds like you may be encountering some abnormal behavior. You should at least be able to highlight text and drag it around the transcript.
Could you send us a bug report? Simply launch InqScribe and select "Report a bug" from the Help menu. Once we receive some more information, we should be able to help you out!

Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll look into MAXQDA support for a future update of InqScribe.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedWe're working on something that could add more export options to InqScribe. We'll keep MAXQDA on our list of potential formats. Sorry though, it's a bit too early to give out more details.

Hi, this is still in our feature queue. We hope to add it in a future release.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedSorry, this feature has not been added yet. We haven't forgotten it though-- we are considering line numbers for a future release.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedThanks for your feedback Diego. I've created a separate suggestion for "Display subtitle character count," which you can vote for below:
http://support.inqscribe.com/forums/4206-general-feedback-for-inqscribe/suggestions/7201068-display-subtitle-character-countIn the meantime, there are 2 workarounds to consider:
1. Re-size the width of the InqScribe window to fit the maximum amount of characters per line. If the text spills over into the next line, you'll know it's too long.
2. Copy and paste your InqScribe transcript into Word. You'll then be able to use Word's ability to count characters.I realize these are not ideal solutions, which is why we're planning a more elegant Preview Subtitle mode.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex Underwood commentedThanks for writing in the suggestion. When you say match the settings of a video, what settings would InqScribe be matching? Or are you asking for a way to match settings of a previous InqScribe document (so, maybe it would remember your font, font size, timecode frame rate, etc.)?
A Grammar and Spell Check feature is now available in the InqScribe 2.5 beta for macOS. More information here: http://blogs.inquirium.net/inqscribe/2019/10/inqscribe-2-5-beta-now-available-for-macos/
