to have inqscribe to recognize tc on mp3 files
It will be nice if inqscribe could recognise ID3 TC in mp3 files embedded on the metadata. MP3 are smaller and have a fast download /upload time.
18 votesThanks for writing in the suggestion. If the idea gets enough votes, we’ll consider adding support for MP3 timecode recognition!

Add standard TimeCode format support on insert
In understand the reasoning for using a . before frames when inserting timecode rather than a ; ... but it breaks the ability to import text files created in inqscribe into programs like ProTools.
Would be great to have that be customizable, so that the timecode format was selectable - allowing you to use all colons (even before frames) or all semi-colons, etc.

Calculate time between timecodes
A feature that displays the time elapsed between timecodes, e.g., the length of time a speaker speaks, or the length of a particular shot.

Workabout for discontinous timecode
Instead of having to go back and adjust all the timecodes at the end to make up discontinuous timecode, it would be great to have a feature that allows you to adjust the running timecode throughout the transcript.
Eg. Start custom TC is 01:54:53:00. Partway through the TC has to change to 02:43:21:00, because a significant about of time has been removed.
It would be nice to have the hotkey then take over from the new custom TC and continue with that, rather than reverting back to the 'start custom TC'.
Maybe also have a feature that supports continuous timecode…

Manual starting timecode
Often times I get an interview with the SRC timecode displayed in the video. The file time code starts at 00:00:00:00 obviously. Maybe somehow make it where I can manually enter the time code in the video and then have a shortcut timecode from there, so I don't have to manually enter the timecode every so often.
I hope I'm explaining it correctly.

Make transcript change color every x seconds from previous timecode
Sometimes transcribers are requested to enter timecodes every, say, 20 seconds. InqScribe doesn't automatically insert timecodes in order to avoid situations where the timecodes gets inserted in a bad spot, like t[00:00:20.00]his.
A workaround is to have the transcript, or a part of the transcript change color to indicate the 20 second mark. Ideally, the would be a color animation (for example, gradually turning from green to yellow to red) so that you could plan your line break.
