Allow us to disable built-in shortcuts
Specifically, I'd love it if Control-W shortcut to close the program had some way to back out of it. Because of other triggers I've set and am very accustomed to, it is way too easy to trigger this shortcut and tab to the "Don't Save" button and hit enter, which I did this morning, losing some unsaved work.
I'd just rather never have this particular function on shortcut.
If disabling is not an option, how about allowing the shortcut to remain in the system, but remap the trigger to a combination less likely to be inadvertently hit?

Stopwatch Snippet Variable
This idea comes from our user Ross:
"A snippet which would add a time stamp in seconds with a running clock restarted from 0 seconds from the previous marker. The first marker would start the clock running and the second entry would add the elapsed time, say 10.35 (seconds). The third entry would reset the clock to zero then add the elapsed time between the second and third entry, say 120.50 (seconds)."

add blinking cursor
It's hard to tell where you placed the cursor when editing text because there's no blinking cursor/indicator like in Word.

Add Google Cloud Speech-to-Text API connection
Please add an interface that helps the users to send audio files to their accounts in Google Cloud to have them translated automatically and then corrected with InqScribe.
Create an instruction page to help your customers register with the Google Cloud Speech-to-Text API service.
I've been trying to use this service myself but am finding the instruction on Google too complicated. Too oriented to experienced software developers, which I'm not.

Support on a secure (https) web site
Why isn't the support site (on Uservoice) of InqScribe a secure site (https)?

allow text expanders
Allow text expanders. Using hotkeys to start/stop helps speed up my work, but then it is slowed down as I cannot use my usual text expanders to save keystrokes.

Insert note / Highlight words
It'd be very helpful to highlight a word and/or write a note (foot note, page note, separate file) to find ana add information. You could then search them by word and have all related notes together or jump to the next note. You could export an external file with all notes so you don't have them in your transcription file.

Counting Snippets Variable
Each time I insert a snippet, be able to include a counter as a variable. So each time I fire a snippet, it writes in the next number integer. Very useful for entertainment cue tracking.

Hey great product! Thank you! Main features I'd like to see: Change background of transcription text area so it can be made black, white
Hey great product! Thank you!
Main features I'd like to see:
Change background of transcription text area so it can be made black, white or whatever color.
Also allow selection of the color for the blinking cursor. Right now its hard to see where my cursor is and I'd like to have also the option of the cursor to be blinking or solid.
Play at Custom Rate -- please put a text box to type in the rate -- the slider is finicky and hard to get the exact rate sometimes.
Thanks again!

Button to skip silence
have a button to skip over when no person is talking -- I have audio where there is no talking for 2-3 minutes at a time and to skip over when someone isn't talking and start playing again (at whatever play rate currently selected) before the button was pressed

button to pause for n seconds, then skipback and continue playback
Simple: I'm transcribing the audio; the speaker then accelerates, so I press a customizable key and InqScribe pauses for 3 seconds (giving me the time to digit what I've lost), then automatically restart playback, only skipping back 1 second just to help me "realignining" with the next words.
1 voteThanks for writing in your request. We’ll consider adding a shortcut that acts on a customizable timer as you described.
In the meantime, you might be interested in a Skipback Toggle combination. In this setup, you can use one shortcut key to play, pause, and skipback in your media file. Read more about this option in our User Guide: http://docs.inqscribe.com/2.2/keyboardshortcuts.html#actions

insert a cancel button in shortcuts/snippets window
Especially in the shortcuts window, if I modify a parameter of a shortcut, the change is immediately saved and it can't be undone. Having a Cancel button aside the Done button would be useful.
1 voteThanks for your feedback. We’ll look into adding a “Cancel” button for a future InqScribe update.

add the ability to export transparency/ opacity scale.
add the ability to export onto a translucent background. Maybe have the transparent with a transparency/ opacity scale.
1 voteHi Junie,
Thanks for your suggestion. InqScribe currently offers a “Transparent” background option for subtitle display (see the Save Subtitled QuickTime Movie Menu settings: http://docs.inqscribe.com/2.2/subtitling.html#export). However, we do not currently offer a translucent/opaque background option, so we will place your suggestion under consideration for a future update of InqScribe.
Thanks again!
