Sorry, but InqScribe does not include speech-to-text technology, even for our native English. Currently, InqScribe is focused on being an open-ended tool for note-taking and manual transcription/translation.

support subtitles in Quicktime 10.x
saving as subtitled movies is a fantastic feature, but only works with Quicktime 7. Unfortunately Quicktime X isn't going away...so I guess isn't it time to update Inqscribe correspondingly? Thanks!
3 votesHi Luke, thanks for your suggestion. InqScribe uses text tracks to create its subtitled movies with QuickTime. Unfortunately, QuickTime 10 does not support said text tracks, which is why recommend users install QuickTime 7. Hope this makes sense!

add "delete word" shortcut
A user suggested this shortcut:
Sometimes you just mess up a word and don't notice until you're near the end of it, and if you're like me and like to reach over for the mouse as little as possible while transcribing, you end up hitting the delete key like a bunch of times to delete words.
The abilty to just automatically delete whatever word precedes the cursor with one button would be really awesome.

GNU/Linux version?
Do you have plans for a GNU/Linux based version or even Chrome OS? I just got a foot pedal and need to find a program to run on my Kubuntu laptop or Chromebook.
13 votesSorry, a Linux version of InqScribe is not planned at this point in time. We would need to expect significant sales to justify the high development costs.

capture
You should be able to capture video from a DV Camcorder while transcribing.
1 voteThanks for writing in the suggestion. Sorry to say, but recording video is a little outside of InqScribe’s scope as a transcription tool. It would be difficult to implement given InqScribe’s current media engine.
