allow a link in the transcript area to multiple media files
That way the same inqscribe file can point to different media files. This is useful if, for example, you wanted to show lots of examples of the same category which occur in different media files.

this is a nice idea, but I think it kind of defeats the purpose of it's simple functionality. It's not an "end user" viewing program, these kind of links don't need to happen in inqscribe and would unecessarily complicate things that are better saved for whatever your later output is. I only see inqscribe as a boon for "pre-edit" situations. even multiple clips imported into a single inscribe 'timeline' would kind of defeat the proper use of the timecode associated with it. Multiple transcripts open at once, though, THAT could be awesome.

Specifically would love to have the ability to have multiple transcripts open (perhaps on tabs) that link to the one video in the window. Would make it easier to separate notes and cues by type.

We've had discussions about supporting a one-to-many relationship between transcripts and media. Check out this idea (and consider moving your votes and comments there): http://support.inqscribe.com/forums/4206-general-feedback-for-inqscribe/suggestions/141186-allow-a-link-in-the-transcript-area-to-different-m

We agree this would be cool. Moving to a multiple-video, multiple-transcript model would add a lot of flexibility: not only could you reference multiple videos from one transcript, but you could more easily review multiple transcripts that all reference the same video.
That said, this is a significant change to the core InqScribe model. We're exploring some ideas, but don't have anything we can announce right now.

I agree with this, we are currently transcribing multiple clips in one document and it would be good if you could click on the relating media file within the script to auto load.
